Course Description
The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course prepares participants to perform the role of a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, leading process improvement projects within organizations.
Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belts demonstrate both theoretical knowledge and practical skills developed through structured learning, data analysis, and applied project work. Green Belts play a key role in identifying improvement opportunities, leading process improvement initiatives, and supporting organizational performance transformation.
Participants develop competencies in:
• Organizational benefits identification and prioritization
• Business process improvement and optimization
• Change management and stakeholder engagement
• Data acquisition and preparation for statistical analysis
• Customer-focused process design
• Interpersonal communication and team leadership
• Motivating and facilitating cross-functional teams
• Quantitative reasoning and numeracy
• Practical problem solving and root cause analysis
• Presentation and professional reporting skills
• Project management and risk analysis
• Lean Six Sigma analytical tools and techniques

• Design control plans to sustain process improvements
• Communicate analytical findings and improvement results to stakeholders
Certification Track
The Lean Six Sigma Green Belt course provides a comprehensive curriculum aligned with the DMAIC Body of Knowledge, preparing participants to obtain the credential:
Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt
Participants demonstrate competence in both theoretical understanding and applied data-driven process improvement methods.
Professional Development Units (PDU)
BITSPEC provides 45 Professional Development Units (PDUs) applicable toward Project Management Professional (PMP®) certification maintenance.
Duration
Approximately 75 hours, including:
• Analytical exercises and case studies
• Statistical analysis using MINITAB® and MINITAB Workspace
BITSPEC Capability Transcript
Education 6.0 Performance Record
Learner performance is evaluated using the BITSPEC Capability Index (BCI™) within the Education 6.0 capability-based learning framework.
Participants are assessed across five competency dimensions:
• Knowledge
• Application
• Analytical Depth
• System Impact
• Ethical Judgment
BCI™ Formula
![]()
Minimum certification requirement for Green Belt:
BCI™ ≥ 70
This model ensures learners demonstrate real operational capability rather than only theoretical knowledge.
Access
Participants receive unlimited access to training materials through the BITSPEC eLearning Management System (AI-enabled Moodle platform).
AI access is standardized to ensure fairness across candidates; however, certification decisions are based solely on verified capability demonstrated through BCI™not on AI usage.
AI access is proportionally scaled by certification level to support increasing analytical and system-level complexity.
AI usage is explicitly assessed under:
- Analytical Depth (D)
- System Impact (S)
- Ethical Judgment (E)
Included Mentoring
The course includes 10 hours of consultation with an Accredited Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt to support participants with project development and analytical challenges.
